NAZARETH - 40th Anniversary Tour To Hit Canada In Support Of The Newz Album BW&BK has received the following:
The Newz,
Nazareth’s first studio album in nearly a decade is set to hit stores in Canada July 15th. The pioneers and mavericks of Scottish rock along with the addition of Lee Agnew (son of bassist Pete Agnew) prove they are still in top, rockin’ form. The band will be undertaking one of the biggest tours of their lengthy career. The 40th anniversary tour started late January in Sweden and will see them play well over 100 shows this year through out Europe and the UK, 13 of which will be in Canada (tour dates below, additional dates to be announced).
The Newz still carries that classic
Nazareth sound that we all know and love, with vocalist
Dan McCafferty belting out tunes in his signature raspy and unforgettable voice right off the top with
'Goin’ Loco', a funky groove driven track. The album serves up a smorgasbord of rock ’n roll, including everything ranging from classic hard rock to acoustic/celtic rock and, for romantic rock fans, 'Enough Love' to satisfy all rock ballad cravings and complete this memorable album.
Nazareth is one of the most influential rock bands hailing from the UK, and has always had a very strong Canadian fanbase selling over a million units. The bands name comes from the 1st line of their classic song
'The Weight' and over the years went on to record such rock classics as
'Love Hurts', 'Hair Of The Dog' and of course Joni Mitchell’s
'This Flight Tonight', thus making the band a staple of rock radio.
