| Le nouvel album est pour le 4 mars et s'appellera "Warpaint" :
"Warpaint"— BLACK CROWES' first album of all-new studio material in seven years, due out March 4 worldwide — will be independently released on the band's own newly formed Silver Arrow Records and distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG. It's their first studio release since the acclaimed "Lions" album in 2001 (on V2).
Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by Chris and Rich Robinson, except "God's Got It" by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. The album builds compellingly on the band's trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel.
"Warpaint" marks the recording debut of two new band members — guitarist Luther Dickinson and keyboardist Adam MacDougall — who join Chris and Rich and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. Dickinson, of NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS, officially steps in to replace producer/guitarist Paul Stacey, whose position with the band was always intended to be temporary. THE BLACK CROWES are deeply appreciative that Stacey committed his genuine talent and time to the band and their performances for most of 2007.
The album's complete track listing is:
01. Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution 02. Walk Believer Walk 03. O, Josephine 04. Evergreen 05. We Who See The Deep 06. Locust Street 07. Movin' On Down The Line 08. Wounded Bird 09. God's Got It 10. There's Gold In Them Hills 11. Whoa Mule
Chris says the album's title signifies "the revolution that could take place in all our souls."
Meanwhile, for the first time in their 18-year career, THE BLACK CROWES will perform an album of theirs in its entirety. On a special run of "one-night-only" shows beginning on March 4, fans will experience "Warpaint" performed in its entirety, after which the band will play songs from their catalog and selected surprises. Dates are to be announced.
THE BLACK CROWES will begin their world tour March 24 by headlining the Byron Bay Festival in Australia. They'll continue their down under trek — their first since 1991 — through April 5 before playing special engagements in Tokyo, Amsterdam and London, and concluding with shows in Hamburg and Cologne, Germany (dates to be announced). | |

| THE BLACK CROWES Singer Says New Album, Warpaint, Is Complete Package Of Band's Passions And Influences www.RollingStone.com has issued the following report from David Fricke; “It’s about freedom, and what revolution used to stand for, how you’ve got to make one of your own and make it last,” singer Chris Robinson of THE BLACK CROWES shouts as the brawling guitars of 'Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution'” the opening song on the Crowes’ first studio album since Lions in 2001, boom through the stereo speakers in a friend’s apartment in Brooklyn. “It’s like the last line of the song,” Robinson says, then singing along to himself on the record, “Don’t you want to see the ship go down with me?” That fighting spirit is a running theme in Warpaint, to be released on March 4th on the Crowes’ own Silver Arrow label. The album features ten new originals, written by Chris and his guitarist brother, Rich, including the heavy-blues march 'Walk Believer Walk', the midtempo bruiser 'We Who See the Deep', a country-soul ballad, 'There’s Gold in Them Hills', and the closing raga- flavored hymn, 'Whoa Mule', with Chris declaring, “We’re dirty but we’re dreamin’, ” in a field of harmonium, slide guitar, harmonica and hand drumming. Warpaint also comes with holy rollin’ — a raucous cover of 'God’s Got It', written and recorded in the Seventies by Louisiana guitarist-preacher Rev. Charlie Jackson. According to Chris, Warpaint is the complete package of the Georgia-born Crowes’ passions and influences — the Delta blues, Dixie soul and early-Seventies classic rock that immediately marked them as determined purists on their 1990 hit debut, Shake Your Moneymaker.
