TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Perform STYX Classics With Guitarist TOMMY SHAW TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA violinist Anna Phoebe issued the following update on New Year's Day:
"Happy New Year! Here's to a happy and healthy 2008!
First time ever that TSO has done a show on New Year's Eve and it was FAN-TAST-IC!!!!!!!
Didn't think anything could top the AWESOME Nashville crowd, who were just amazing and loud, but last night was incredible! At midnight we dropped 20,000 balloons and about 100 bags of confetti. Such a glorious mess! It seemed kind of significant to start off 2008 on stage....the best place to be!!
To top it all off we had Tommy Shaw, singer from STYX, join us onstage to sing 'Blue Collar Man' and 'Renegade'. He has such a fantastic voice and is a complete shredder on the guitar. I have never seen Al smile so much in soundcheck (and try desperately hard to hide the fact he IS smiling!!
) He was truly great and a really nice guy!
We didn't finish with the meet 'n greet line until around 2:45am!!! Ended up on the audio bus drinking champagne and dancing with the band and crew until around 4:30 and then sat up with the girls eating cheese and chatting until after 5:00am...
So - right now we are at a truck stop refuelling just outside Peoria. It's a complete snow blizzard outside - everything is WHITE WHITE WHITE! I'm so excited to see my parents - they should be arriving around the same time as me at the hotel! Tonight we have our on-the-road renegade New Year's Eve party!!
Less than a week of tour to go! Can't believe it's almost over!!!
Hope you have a fantastic start to 2008."
Love, Anna
