FIREWIND - New Interview With Guitarist GUS G Available

www.HallOfMetal.com recently caught up with FIREWIND guitarist/founder Gus G. to discuss the band#s new album, The Premonition. The following is an excerpt from the interview:

Q: What differences are we going to find between (previous album) Allegiance and Premonition?

Gus: "We didn’t want to make a continuation of Allegiance. I think the main difference is that it’s a more guitar-
oriented album, and that’s why it sounds a bit heavier, it sounds a bit like 'straight to your face'. But, at the same time, we have included a bit more the heart, as we’ve always dome in the past. We just wanted to try a different production and achieve that, you know."

Q: Your influences from the 80s are clear, but always with a more actual heavy touch. What do you think about the boom towards the music of those years?

Gus: "I don’t know how to explain it. We like to be heavy but melodic at the same time. I try to keep the balance between both. Definitely the market is overflowed with a lot of new bands, but everybody has the right to play music everyone has something to say."
