METALLICA Confirmed For KFMA Day '08

METALLICA are confirmed to perform at KFMA Day '08, scheduled for Friday, May 16th at Pima County Fairgrounds in Tuscon, AZ.

Also on the bill for the festival event are SCARS ON BROADWAY, APOCALYPTICA and FLOBOTS.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 5th at 10 AM and for the first 24 hours they are just $30 only at Tucson area Catalina Marts! Phoenix area Zia Records and www.kfma.com $47.50/adv. All Ages.

Metallica recently issued the following update:

"Is it an internationally recognized holiday? No, but it should be! We are honored and proud to be participating in Record Store Day on April 19th as hundreds of indy record stores across the country will be celebrating what you already know... the coolest place in any town to hang out is your local record store. So with that said, we'll be hangin' out that day at the Rasputin Music store in Mountain View, CA starting at 2 PM.

Come on down to the store, say 'hi,' bring some stuff for us to sign, and in the spirit of supporting your local independent record store, maybe you'll want to do a little shopping while you're there.

Now, the fine print: In our humble effort to make sure that no one is rushed along and that we get a chance to chat with everyone, 400 wristbands will be distributed. You may start lining up at 8 AM...the store opens at 10 AM and will begin passing out wristbands at that time. METALLICA To Play Bulgaria For Record Fee

According to News.bg, METALLICA will play in Bulgaria for a record fee. The musicians have asked for the amount of $1.6 million to present their show on the national stadium Vasil Levski in Sofia. Similar was the demand of the other world famous band, which will visit us in the summer - KISS. Though, they agreed to please their fans and play in Bulgaria on May 16 for little more than half million dollars - $650,000 fee.

METALLICA Teams With Billabong For Limited Edition BoardShorts

METALLICA and Billabong US have joined forces to produce a limited-edition boardshort.

The item will be available in coming months and Metallica were "heavily involved" in the design process, deciding exactly what went to the market.

The Metallica trunks come in an all-white and an all-black color scheme with the rockers' album cover art spliced through the iconic Metallica rock logo across the back. Metallica symbols from the band's history are also heat embossed into the fabric.

The trunks carry an unique plectrum-shaped wax comb in the pocket with the band name etched in the plastic.

The Billabong Metallica limited-edition design co-op boardshort will be available from Billabong stores and leading retailers.
