| QUIET RIOT's Kevin DuBrow On New Album, Rehab: "We Dug Into Our 70s Roots" Glam-Metal.com has issued an interview with QUIET RIOT's Kevin DuBrow and Frankie Banali, conducted by Wayne "Doobie" Dubay. The following is an excerpt: Q: Kevin, I'm excited to hear that Quiet Riot has a brand new studio album coming out, titled Rehab. Mind telling us a little about the album and what people can expect from it? Kevin: "It's a departure from previous Quiet Riot albums. The songs are composed differently, and recorded differently. It's similar to our Quiet Riot albums in two ways, it's got my vocal sound, which is like it or not, distinctive, and Frankie Banali might be only one of maybe five drummers around who's identifiable with his drum sound. You've got John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Cozy Powell, Frankie Banali, and maybe Keith Moon as guy's who are distinctive by their drum sounds, besides their playing. Song writing wise, we dug into our 70's roots, and some of the guitar texture are more modern sounding. Not modern sounding like you may think, but more bluesy I think." | QUIET RIOT Guitarist Alex Grossi: "Rock Fans Are Rock Fans Wherever You Go" QUIET RIOT guitarist Alex Grossi recently spoke to Boston writer Deb Rao about his recent Signaure Guitar Endorsment with Paul Reed Smith, his recent tour to New Orleans, and the upcoming Quiet Riot Rehab Tour. The new release by Quiet Riot, entitled Rehab, is slated to be released October 3rd on Chavis Records. Q: Alex, congratulations on your new Signature Paul Reed Smith model! Let's discuss how the endorsement with Paul Reed Smith transpired. A: "Thanks Deb... It is an honor to have my own PRS model, they make great guitars and I am happy to be a part of the PRS family. I have been endorsing them for almost 9 years now, and they have been great to me since day one. Winn Krozcack and Grover Duvall (PRS artist relations) were really helpful in making the custom guitar happen, and I cannot thank them enough." For more info check out www.PRSGUITARS.com Q: When you were designing the body of the guitar, what kind of tone were you aiming to achieve? In Quiet Riot, you perform in a variety of different settings that vary from arenas to club venues. In concert, how do you approach crafting your different sounds with your new signature model? A: "Ya know, it is nothing more than a bunch of options that they offer on all their standard models (except the pink glitter finish!!). It is just a combination that I felt would work good for what I do, no matter where I am playing...." Q: Have you ever thought about making a solo guitar album that would feature all of your diverse guitar styles? A: :"Diverse?? - I could try, but it would probably all end up sounding like POISON songs!!! LOL!!!! Q: Quiet Riot recently performed in Reno this weekend? How is the music scene in Vegas or Reno compare to Los Angeles? Are music audiences into 80's music in Nevada? A: "Rock fans are rock fans wherever you go..." Q: Will Quiet Riot be performing a lot of tunes from Rehab on your upcoming fall tour? A: "Yes, we are adding new songs from Rehab into the set... we have been playing 'Free' live, and it sounds killer!" Q: Was Randy Rhoads a big influence in developing your guitar style? A: "I was and am a huge fan of Randy's, and always will be... he made me want to practice more!" Q: You recently performed with HOOKERS N' BLOW in New Orleans. How is the music scene progressing in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? Is music still thriving on Bourbon St.? A: "It was great playing down there, the music scene seemed fine to me, everyone had a good time (how can you not!) I did speak to some of the local bands that opened for us and they said things are getting a lot better, which is good to hear." Q: You have performed in so many different concert settings with Quiet Riot? What was it like to perform in Korea for the U.S. Troops in 2005? A: "That was a really cool experience, those guys went nuts! It was nice to be able to give our boys a taste of good ol' U.S. rock!" Q: Alex, you will be performing with Quiet Riot at Foxwoods Theatre on October 3rd and 4th. October 3rd is the release date for the new Quiet Riot CD. I am looking forward to your homecoming performance. Is their anything else that you would like to say to your fans about the upcoming Quiet Riot Rehab tour? A: "Just thanks for the continued support... see ya soon!" | |

| QUIET RIOT - Rehab Track-By-Track With Drummer Frankie Banali An exclusive track-by-track overview of QUIET RIOT's new album by drummer Frankie Banali is available at Classicrockrevisited.com herehttp://www.classicrockrevisited.com/Interviews06/QUIETRIOTREHAB.htm . Banali comments about the album, which is due out through Chavis Records on October 3rd: "The writing process for these recordings differed greatly from our previous efforts in that Kevin (Dubrow - singer) and I approached the writing of new songs in tandem but initially independent of each other. We have always wanted to tap into our British late ‘60's and ‘70's influences. At the same time we tried to go into fresh areas we had not gone before. It's a fairly eclectic representation of where Kevin and I wanted Quiet Riot to be musically at this point in time. We also individually worked with other songwriters as well as enlisting the services of studio guitarist Neil Citron, the incomparable bassist Mr. Tony Franklin (ex- THE FIRM, BLUE MURDER) and the talented services of GLENN HUGHES (ex-BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE) Hughes for a vocal duet with Kevin, as well as playing bass on that track. These recordings are something that we are overall very pleased with and hope the listener will enjoy it as well. If I had to put a moniker on this record it might just be New Retro!" | |

| QUIET RIOT Guitarist Alex Grossi Looks Back At 2006
QUIET RIOT guitarist Alex Grossi spoke to Boston-based writer Deb Rao recently about his favorite memories of 2006. A few excerpts follow:
Deb Rao: Do you have any favorite moment that you would like to share with us? Grossi: "I had a lot of fun this year, between all the killer Quiet Riot shows, going to Europe with LOVE/HATE and doing HOOKERS N' BLOW. It's hard to say, but my favorite moment was when Quiet Riot played in Canada with ALICE COOPER and VINCE NEIL. Everything about that show was great!"
Deb Rao: What was your favorite concert that you attended in 2006? Grossi: "Hands Down, GUNS N' ROSES on Halloween night in Jacksonville, FA. I got to hang with Dizzy and jam with Bumblefoot backstage! That guy can play anything! And the band was on fire that night."
Deb Rao: Do you have any special news updates that you would like to share with us? Grossi: "As of right now 2007 is already shaping up to be a busy one! I have a live performance on Rockline with Quiet Riot (on January 10th). I will be also performing at Paul Reed Smith Guitar's annual NAMM party in Anaheim, CA." | |

Billy was a great person, very talented and I was fortunate enough to have recorded with him in 1982 for his East Of Eden's Gate record as well as having participated for a short while on part of his tour for that release.
