LACUNA COIL Drummer Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati Chats With Scribeforce.com LACUNA COIL's drummer
Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati spoke to
Scribeforce.com recently about joining the band, his influences, robots, tattoos, and more. Here are a few excerpts from the chat:
Q: How did you first become involved with Lacuna Coil? Do you have any side projects?
Mozzati: "Marco (Zelati) just contacted me because we were friends and he knew I was a drummer…it happens back in 1998. For the moment I don’t have a personal side project, but I enjoy being part of an Italian band called
REZOPHONIC which includes lots of Italian artists and all the incomes are used to help out African people who need clear water to drink."
Q: It’s pretty rare for a metal band with a front woman to be as successful as you are, especially when the lead vocals are shared with a male. Are there any other female fronted bands you’re a fan of?
Mozzati: "One in particular, is called STOLEN BABIES!!!"
Q: Who are some of the drummers or other musicians who inspired you to pick up the sticks?
Mozzati: "
Stewart Copeland (
THE POLICE),
Terry Bozzio (
FRANK ZAPPA), Will Calhoun (recorded with various artists),
Bill Ward (
BLACK SABBATH) …and many many many others."
