X-JAPAN - New Year's Eve Show Planned For Japan, Offer To Play China's National Stadium On The Table, New Song In The Works
According to a very reliable BW&BK source in Japan,
X JAPAN drummer/founder
Yoshiki held a press conference in Tokyo on September 15th. It was Yoshiki's first public appearance in four months, since the Hide
Memorial Summit held back in May in honour of late guitarist Hideto Matsumoto. Over 5,000 fans attended the conference.
Yoshiki revealed the band will play a "countdown concert" in Japan on December 31st. A venue will be announced soon, but Tokyo will most likely be ground zero for the event. A "live event" is also planned for some time around Christmas.
Additionally, an offer has been made to have X Japan play China's National Stadium (aka the Bird's Nest), where the 2008 Olympics were held. Negotiations are underway.
With regards to a new release from the band, Yoshiki commented: "I'm allowed to say right now but since we're
playing in Japan, I've got to release something. I've already written a song...perhaps a hard one."
Finally, Yoshiki will be a musical director for proiminent Japanese film maker Akira Kurosawa 100th Anniversary Exhibition, to be held in 2010 in the US.
