U2’s long time tour manager Dennis Sheehan will this year receive the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award for his forty years of service to the live music industry.
Sheehan has been U2’s tour manager since 1982 and has also worked with
LED ZEPPELIN – a period of his life that he isn’t shy in talking about. At his recent birthday, the members of U2 dressed up as members of Led Zeppelin in honour of Sheehan’s legendary tales.
Sheehan said in a statement of U2, “The band works incredibly hard, and they go to extreme lengths to achieve what they want. With many bands, you get to a peak, and that's it. With U2 they are still climbing that mountain."
The Parnelli Awards honor the highest achievement in concert production technology. 18 awards are presented including lighting designer of the year and audio mixer of the year as well as three lifetime achievement awards.
