NEVERMORE Frontman WARREL DANE - Partial Tracklisting For Debut Solo Album Revealed
NEVERMORE frontman Warrel Dane has issued the following studio update:
"Been working hard and had some troubles posting, now everything seems to be back up to speed. Here's how the track listing is shaping up:
'When We Pray',
'Messenger' (featuring Jeff Loomis),
'Obey',
'Let You Down (featuring Chris Broderick),
'August',
'Feel Failure (Hail Yesterday)',
'Brother',
'Patterns' (yet another reason for Paul Simon to hate metal),
'Praises To The War Machine' (featuring James Murphy),
'This Old Man'.
I'm still working on vocals for three more songs but don't want to reveal the titles yet.... and the SOM cover is ...well
HEAVY."
About the album, ex-SOILWORK guitarist-turned-producer Peter Wichers told BW&BK in September that Dane "does some really different stuff. He’s actually a baritone, for example, which is kind of funny when you think about how he sings on a Nevermore record, but he can’t use that voice in Nevermore because you wouldn’t be able to hear him. He’s doing all kinds of different vocal things on this. And there are a couple songs where he’s singing really low. Everything is shaped so that Warrel is in focus at all times. I think people are going to love the record because Warrel is getting all the space he needs. There’s one song where there’s one clean guitar in the middle, but that’s it. He fills everything else up with different harmonies and stuff like that. It’s very different from anything he’s done before.”
