FIREWIND Guitarist Comments On New Album Being Released In North America



FIREWIND guitarist Gus G (ex-DREAM EVIL, NIGHTRAGE, MYSTIC PROPHECY) has commented about the news that their new album, Allegiance, will be issued in North America by Century Media on January 23rd. Says G: “I'd like to say that we're very happy that Century Media will release Allegiance in the US This will finally ensure that our music will have proper distribution and promotion. I've met lots of fans last year playing on Ozzfest with ARCH ENEMY and hopefully I'll be coming back with Firewind at some point. Hope to see you all again soon.”

FIREWIND Prepares To Conquer Europe With DRAGONFORCE

The Greek metal powerhouse FIREWIND will embark on a massive European tour as direct support to DRAGONFORCE starting on October 21st, which marks the kickoff of the world tour in support of Allegiance. This is the ultimate guitar shredders package as the young phenomenon known as Gus G. (ex-DREAM EVIL, NIGHTRAGE, MYSTIC PROPHECY, ARCH ENEMY) will undoubtedly make a name for himself performing next to Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce each night. Gus G. recently turned heads with his stunning “Betcha Can’t Play This” feature in Guitar World, while Total Guitar magazine hailed him as metal’s newest guitar sensation.

After the European tour, Firewind will rejoin Dragonforce and special guests ALL THAT REMAINS for a two-week U.K. trek beginning November 29th. Allegiance peaked at #10 on the Greek album charts and spent six weeks in the Top 20, a further testament of the group’s growing presence throughout Europe. This effort marks the first album with new vocalist Apollo Papathanasio (ex-MAJESTIC, TIME REQUIEM) and drummer Mark Cross (ex-HELLOWEEN, METALIUM), whose talents had a prominent impact on the creative process. FIREWIND - Dutch Vocalist TARA To Make Guest Appearances At Select Shows On European Tour


As previously reported, Dutch vocalist Tara provided guest lead vocals on the latest FIREWIND album, Allegiance, for the song 'Breaking The Silence'. She will reprise her role at the following shows, where Firewind is supporting DRAGONFORCE:

FIREWIND Launch Fire TV

FIREWIND guitarist Gus G. has issued the following tour update:

"So...we’re halfway through the tour by now and it’s been success all the way! Most shows have been sold out and Firewind seems to make an impact each and every night. The Scandinavian part of the tour was great….Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo rocked! In Stockholm we met lots of friends: Marios and Jimmie from NIGHTRAGE were there, as well as the LACUNA COIL guys - they had an off day in Sweden! Good times. After a sold out Oslo (where I had some technical problems with my wireless, sorry bout that!), we had an off day in Copenhagen where we wondered around the coolest places and bars. Apollo got to go home in Halmstad for a few hours and after that back on the road again. We headed back to Germany where we did a show in Bochum. It was nice to meet lots of friends once again and the people of Century Media.

Austria was next and went down pretty well. Then another off day in Bratislava, Slovakia where it was freezing cold!! We made the best out of it though. As u recently read here, there was a venue change, so instead of Trencin we played in Podlavice. Really crazy crowd!! We look forward to going back there. Italy is up next….Stay tuned for the next tour update.

The plan is to release special videos of Firewind that you won’t get ANYWHERE else! FIREWIND To Make Their US Debut At ProgPower; ESP Guitars Launches Gus G. Signature Series

Greek metal powerhouse FIREWIND are set to make their US debut at ProgPower USA, which takes place in Atlanta, GA on October 5th - 6th, 2007.

Firewind are quickly making a name for themselves thanks to the young phenomenon known as Gus G. (ex-DREAM EVIL, NIGHTRAGE, MYSTIC PROPHECY, ARCH ENEMY), who will be making a special appearance at the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA between Jan. 18th - 21st,2007 to debut his new ESP guitars signature series (pictured).
