VELVET REVOLVER’s Slash On Macs And Gibson

Slash is probably one of the most recognizable names and faces in modern rock music. With his familiar look of a hat, sunglasses and a cigarette, Slash was the toast of NAMM as he posed for pictures with his new Epiphone Signature Series guitar.

I had the opportunity to sit privately with Slash for a little while and discuss a few things including Macs and his new Epiphone guitar.

As they have done in the past with musicians like Zakk Wylde, Gibson launched an Epiphone branded Slash guitar. While the guitars are a bit cheaper than their Gibson counterparts, Slash said he is really happy with the way it turned out.

“Epiphone is great,” said Slash. “All things considered the only difference is the name — there is no reason not to play one of these guitars.”

VELVET REVOLVER Frontman Misses Sundance Performance

www.PageSix.com reports that VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland failed to show up for the band's scheduled performance on Sunday night, January 20th at the 944 Magazine's party at Tao during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Says the site, "Speculation from inside the band's camp said the singer had missed his flight to Sundance for the performance, but that didn't stop his band mates from literally asking the crowd if they wanted to have a go.

"It's was crazy, they were inviting anyone who wanted to get up sing," an onlooker told www.PageSix.com.
