EDGUY new album

EDGUY have entered the Gate Studios in Wolfsburg to record the follow-up of their chart breaker album "Rocket Ride". The new album will be produced by Sascha Paeth and is scheduled to be released in November 2008.

The album will be entitled "Tinnitus Sanctus" and Tobias Sammet has got the following news in store: "The title just refers to the wall of sound that will bulldoze you. Let's be modest: We have ten extraordinary songs and this new album is gonna be our ticket to the hall of fame alongside with LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH and AC/DC. There won't be a hit-single this time, not even a flop-single, haha; not only because most songs are too long for a single, but also because for a single we had to produce way more stuff, lose money and need a time frame to release it. The album would come later then and that would suck. For the record: Musically, we don't go back to the roots. It's not the "Legacy of Mandrake part 2" and it's not a little brother of Rocket Ride either. It's a new album and we've set off to new horizons once more! The stuff sounds really broad, very anthemic, heavy and ballsy. We've kept our trademarks and still there are a lot of elements that are different to anything we've done before. I know what some fans may think, because if my favourite bands would have come up with statements like that I would have been scared to death, but in our case I am sure this could be the album we'll be measured by in the future."

"EDGUY and their record label Nuclear Blast have just extended their contract for three more albums. Also included in the deal is the release of the live DVD that was filmed in Brazil during the Rocket Ride World Tour two years ago. To the question why the footage has not been released yet, the band has a simple answer: 'We could have thrown in a DVD, but then it would have delayed the release of our forthcoming album. That's also why there is going to be no EP prior to the album. Besides that, 'Tinnitus Sanctus' [the forthcoming EDGUY album] is way too strong to get a chance on radio; no one's gonna play it anyway!'"

EDGUY's new album, "Tinnitus Sanctus", was recorded at Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany. The CD was produced by Sascha Paeth and is scheduled to be released on November 16.

EDGUY - Tinnitus Sanctus Album Art Revealed

Germany's EDGUY have just revealed the album cover for their forthcoming new studio album Tinnitus Sanctus which will be released worldwide on November 14th via Nuclear Blast. According to a band update, "last Saturday (September 13th) the record company invited the press to the studio where the album was played to several European journalists who were all really impressed with the fresh and heavy sound. More than one journalist came up with the memorable remark that the album will underline Edguy's status of having become Germany's leading Hard'n'Heavy band, setting off to new horizons, featuring typical trademarks without repeating themselves." This album is a statement of innovation and credibility and as Tobias has put it, "A vitamin shot in the arm of a boring and predictable genre!"

German melodic metallers EDGUY have issued the following updates:

"Edguy have just returned from Belgrade where they have shot a video clip for the song 'Ministry Of Saints' from their forthcoming new studio album Tinnitus Sanctus out on November 14th.

As there will be no EP before the album release the video clip will be shown on this website during the next weeks."

Another message from the band reads: "Edguy have just revealed the tracklist of their new album Tinnitus Sanctus which will be released on November 14th.

If you want to be big in the USA you have to go there and stay there. I wouldn't want to live in the USA in a million years! It's a different planet and I don't want to go there. That means we're never going to be a big, big act over there but that's OK. I just don't want to make the sacrifices we'd have to make to break that market in a big way.
